Acne Treatment Skin Care With Retin-A

Not long time ago, I shared my experience on an acne treatment skin care with some younger friends. When I was young, my face was bombarded with pimples and zits. I told them of an experiment that I carried out to eliminate all my acne. They laughed at me. They think I was joking with them as if I had stumbled upon a high-tech acne treatment. Maybe they thought that I just made up a story to entertain or shock them. That was 30 years ago.

Anyway, I did try out this method and it worked back then. Let me share with you exactly what I did 30 years ago.

I washed my face with soap and water. Nothing fancy. I think I used my mom's soap which I still use today. Yet I have no encounter with acne or zits until today.

Then I dipped my head over a pot of boiling water with a towel covering my head and the pot. I did this to open my pores more. I opened an amber bottle which contain liquid Retin-A. This medicine was recommended by my family doctor. Using a cotton ball, I soaked it with Retin-A and dabbed it on my acne.

Wow! It burned my face. Guess what! When I woke up the next day, my face turned bright red. My skin started to peel. After three days, my skin was flaking like a waterfall. I felt so embarrassed. Yet I still need to attend school. So I wonder if my younger friends feel that my nuked face is funnier than the crazy acne skin care treatment experiment.

The good news came on the seventh day if I remembered correctly. It seemed that I had waited many months to see that my face was clear. No more pimples. My skin was perfect like a baby.

If you visit any dermatologist today, one of the acne skin care treatment products includes Retin-A. Some years ago this product was banned, I think. However, for now, this treatment is safer, less concentrated, and less explosive. I just wish that the medical community will perform more tests on patients just to be on the safe side.

Caustic chemical such as Retin-A was unheard off in acne treatment skin care back then. You may think that I am a sadist.  Even I have to suffer the agony but it works.
